Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation

Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation (GAGDC) works to foster and promote revitalization of low-to-moderate income communities that we serve using comprehensive community development strategies.

Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corporation’s (GAGDC) mission is to foster and promote the redevelopment and revitalization of the Auburn Gresham, parts of Englewood, West Chatham, Washington Heights, Ashburn, West Englewood and the Greater Grand Crossing communities, by designing and implementing comprehensive community services and programs that improve the community’s quality of life and economic viability, increasing availability of quality housing while maintaining and improving the existing housing stock and enhancing the delivery of education, health and social services to all residents and support to local businesses.

The Greater Auburn Gresham’s Neighborhood Business Development Center (NBDC) is a year round local business service that provides one-on-one consulting, technical assistance, education events, shop local promotions, commercial corridor (TIF) marketing and networking events tailored for the small business community aimed at giving them the tools they need to thrive.

Auburn Gresham’s Neighborhood Business Development Center (NDBC) program is committed to assist and support local businesses through access to access to a business resource center, with the needed supports to help enhance, sustain and grow the business districts across our service area.

We work to drive neighborhood economic vitality through business attraction and retention, an effort that is greatly supported by our local Alderman, community Business Taskforce, and Southwest Corridor Collaborative, all actively working to revitalize our commercial districts.

Our focus is to assist businesses in general preparedness and capacity needed to more effectively deliver services, by ensuring they understand how to navigate city services. This is done in concert with the use of business referrals to strong, effective business partners in the community and across the City to best align them to the support needed. We accomplish this by continuing strong and general support of a variety of services which include:

  • Providing resources to help launch small businesses
  • Assistance troubleshooting city-related issues for local businesses
  • Connecting businesses to financial assistance (loans and grants)
  • Offering consumer marketing assistance
  • Providing business to business networking opportunities
  • Providing community training opportunities within greater Auburn Gresham and joint trainings with NBDC community partners
  • Maintaining a strong and deep referral network, businesses can tap into
