About
Business Services Collective (BSC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in 2019 focused on developing the financial health of diverse construction businesses. BSC’s unique focus on one-on-one training, mentorship and hands-on implementation of best practices helps construction entrepreneurs better plan, manage and fund their business growth.
BSC supports diverse contractors in the construction industry by “leveling up” their business practices. BSC provides personalized assistance to contractors in the completion of their bid package, including calculating competitive cost estimates, creating compelling Capability Statements/cover letters, applying for MBE/WBE certification, and identifying access to capital options. Partnering with bookkeepers and accountants recruited from the same communities we serve, BSC also supports the operational capacity of construction entrepreneurs by offering “back office” services to complete project paperwork such as wage reports, bookkeeping, payroll, lien waivers, progress reports and similar administrative tasks.
Through intensive one-on-one training and implementation assistance by local experts, participating contractors have the opportunity to learn best practices for operating a construction business, put those practices to work and develop stronger habits for business management improving their financial health and positioning for growth going forward.
